4 Tips On Starting A Business

Thinking about starting your own business? Here's a few tips from Juxtaposed Clothing's CEO James Cameron!

"When I began Juxt, I just had an idea and wanted to make it come to life. Through research I found a couple of pointers, but there was not a clear template on a way to begin. Here's mine." -James

1. Research
-Use your favorite search engines to look up articles on how to start a business in the field you are seeking (ex: fashion, technology, etc). Also, research the type of services you will need to outsource to aid you throughout your business, make a list of their prices and contact information, compare prices.
2. Make A Business Plan
-With this new found information from step 1, make a business plan. In your business plan include your type of business, what services or products you provide, the estimated cost to make your products, the estimated price you will charge for your products, what makes your business unique from others, your biggest competition, and your goal a year from that day. Including your competition and goal will constantly focus and motivate you, so include them!
3. Establish A Team
-Decide whether you actually need a team or not. Every article I read demanded that I had a team, but in some cases you do not need to begin with a team. If you need others to help you manage your business, create your goods, finance your goods, promote your business, and to balance your ideas; then, you need a team.
4. DIVE IN!
-Go ahead and begin working! Don't EVER be afraid to fail, sound "stupid", or to appear different. Those will not only help you learn, but eventually make you money. Work hard and smart and learn from mistakes. Re-write every rule you want to and make your business stand out! Take your research, business plan, and team and dominate! Good luck!
