Business Tips: Culture & Branding

Every successful brand has a specific culture associated with them. Like how the clothing company Supreme is associated with skateboarding. Or how The Brooklyn Circus embraces the historic and vintage culture.

"After 9 months into building the Juxtaposed Clothing brand, I realized we had no specific culture associated with us. Being a 19-year old Civil Engineering major, from Jamaica, Queens, New York, who likes technology, sports, fashion, music, reading, and sleeping; I realized I had no specific culture associated with myself. Therefore, I decided to embrace the culture of being dynamic, and now so does Juxtaposed Clothing." -James Cameron, CEO

3 Steps To Establishing Business Culture:
-Choose A Culture That Fits Your Brand
The key word is "fits." Decide on what culture your audience embraces, as well as yourself, and one your brand can always stand by. It can be a sport like Supreme, a time period like The Brooklyn Circus, or a little bit of everything creative like Juxtaposed Clothing.

-Build Your Brand Around That Culture
If your company is a fashion company, build your logo, designs, slogan, etc around your culture. For example, how Lady Gaga calls her fans "little monsters." Due to her culture being all things abstract, she is building everything, even the naming of her fanbase, around her unique culture.

-Capitalize Off Of That Culture!
Every business loves profit! Create products around the culture you have established, and capitalize off of them. Think of how the group Odd Future has their own line of skateboards; they established, produced, and capitalized!
